A 33-year-old Arnold man was arrested after he allegedly was found driving a stolen car. Arnold Police stopped the 2002 Dodge Caliber in the 1200 block of Telegraph Road because smoke was billowing from under the car, the rear license plate was not illuminated and the driver side of the car was painted black while the other side was blue, police reported.
The officer pulled over the suspect at about 8:10 p.m. April 19 and learned he was wanted on warrants in Arnold, as well as in Bella Villa in St. Louis County, where the Caliber had been stolen. The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked, held for the Bella Villa Police Department and released pending application for warrants, the report said.
Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for first-degree tampering, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
