Dennis Meyer of Pacific was the winner of a $1 million Missouri Lottery Powerball drawing announced May 11.
When he heard the winning ticket was sold in Eureka, he checked the tickets in his pocket and none were winners. Later, when he was talking to his co-workers about the winning ticket sold in Eureka, he remembered he also had tickets in his truck, and he didn’t believe his eyes when his numbers matched all five white-ball numbers, according to a written statement from the Missouri Lottery.
“I went into work and asked, ‘What do we have going on today?’ I had a grin on my face and said, ‘I’ll be right back,’ he said, according to the statement. “I grabbed the ticket and asked them to pull up the website. I said, ‘Tell me if you see what I see.’”
Meyer said his co-workers are all “tickled to death” for him and his family.
He bought the ticket at QuikTrip, 290 E. Fourth St., in Eureka.
The winning numbers were 6, 8, 9, 37 and 40.
