The oldest gray seal "living in human care" has died aged 51.
Sheba has lived at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary for the majority of her life since founder Ken Jones rescued her as an injured pup back in 1974.
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary said it was "deeply saddened" to announce her death on Nov. 13.
Known as the Queen of the Sanctuary, she was described as being a "truly extraordinary gray seal."
Most seals live to be around 25 to 30 years old in the wild, making Sheba’s longevity truly extraordinary, according to her carers.
Typically, female gray seals in human care can live close to 40 years; male seals live about 30 years.
Cornish Seal Sanctuary said: "For more than 50 incredible years, Sheba has been one of the most beloved residents at the Sanctuary for staff and generations of guests.

"Within the safety of the Sanctuary, Sheba thrived; strong, clever, and always knowing her own mind.
"Affectionately known as “Queen Sheba,” she won the hearts of staff, guests, and fellow seals alike.
"From zooming around her pool and stealing toys to cuddling with friends and guarding her favorite orange squeaky ball, Sheba’s playful spirit shone every day.
"The Sanctuary already feels emptier without her, but her legacy lives on in every splash and memory she leaves behind.
"Rest peacefully, Queen Sheba; forever the heart of our Sanctuary."
Sheba is said to have lived a long, happy life surrounded by dedicated care and the love of everyone who knew her.
The Sanctuary team is now planning a special tribute to honor Sheba’s memory and celebrate her incredible life in the coming weeks.
