The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has identified a 36-year-old Sullivan man as a suspect in a burglary at the Festus Church of the Nazarene, 2717 Hwy. P, west of Festus. A trailer and lawn equipment, altogether valued at $17,632.92, were stolen, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The burglary occurred about 4:50 a.m. Aug. 21, when someone apparently pried open a door to the church’s garage and stole a 21-foot trailer that contained a walk-behind mower, a push mower, a backpack blower, two trimmers and two gas cans, the report said.

As of Sept. 4, none of the stolen items had been recovered, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He said the suspect had not yet been arrested.
