Fox Trot

The C-6 Educational Foundation is seeking participants for its annual fundraising Fox Trot 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk, to be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at Arnold City Park on Bradley Beach Road off Jeffco Boulevard near the Meramec River. The 5K will start at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile run/walk at 10 a.m.

Entry is $25 for the 5K and $10 for the run/walk. Proceeds will go to the foundation, which provides educational and welfare grants to benefit students throughout the Fox C-6 School District.

Fox Trot participants who sign up by 10 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 15) will receive a free shirt, as well as a goodie bag, water and snacks. The overall male and female 5K winner will receive a $100 cash prize and trophy, and the top three 5K finishers in each age category will receive a medal. All those who take part in the run/walk will receive a participation medal.

A contest is being held to see which Fox district school can register the most participants for the event. The winning school will receive a $500 educational grant.

The Fox Trot also will include raffles and music. We Are One Community Choir members will sing the national anthem before the start of the run, and a small group of Seckman High School band students will perform.

Fox Student Council members will be on hand to help with the event.

Fleet Feet in St. Louis will provide online registration and chip timing. To register, go to fleetfeetstlouis.com/racing/highlighted-races/fox-trot. For a mail-in registration form, go to the foundation’s page on the Fox district website at fox.k12.mo.us/programs/c-6_educational_foundation.

The Arnold Tourism Commission and Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City are co-sponsors. The foundation is still seeking sponsors. For sponsorships or more information about the Fox Trot, call 314-363-7951.
