Two young people from De Soto riding on a motorcycle were injured in a traffic accident Saturday afternoon (July 20) on Hwy. 21 just south of De Soto.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Dustin Bobmeyer, 22, of De Soto, was riding a 2001 Honda CBR600F4 motorcycle north on Hwy. 21 at Yellow Rock Road at 4:09 p.m. when he slowed to a stop on the right shoulder, and then began turning left onto Yellow Rock Road when he rode into the path of a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Timothy Elfrink, 61, of Arnold. The Silverado swerved left and stuck the motorcycle, which overturned on the road and both Bobmeyer and a passenger, Miranda Foster, 18, of De Soto, were thrown off.
The report made no mention of an injury to Elfrink.
Bobmeyer and Foster sustained moderate injuries and were taken by car to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
Foster was wearing a safety helmet but Bobmeyer was not, the report said. Elfrink was wearing a seat belt. Both vehicles had moderate damage.
