Two St. Francois County residents were hurt in a single-car traffic accident early Saturday evening (Aug. 17) on Hwy. 21 in the Meramec Heights area of northern Jefferson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Alexandria Davis, 24, was driving north on Hwy. 21 at 5:05 p.m. when she lost control of her 2006 Ford Escape, which went off the right side of the road and ran into a rock bluff.
Davis sustained moderate injuries and a passenger in the car, Troy Simmerock, 31, was seriously injured. Both were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
Neither Davis nor Simmerock were wearing seat belts, the report said. The Ford was totaled in the crash.
