An Imperial woman and a Festus woman were hurt Friday morning (Feb. 26) in a two-car accident on Hwy. 141 south of Romaine Creek Road between Fenton and Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:45 a.m., Julia E. Farrell, 27, of Imperial was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra north on the highway, and the front of the car struck the rear of a northbound 2015 Chevrolet Malibu that was stopping ahead. Then, the Elantra ran off the left side of the road, and the Malibu ran off the right side of the road, the report said.
Heather L. Storz, 44, of Festus was driving the Malibu.
Both Farrell and Storz were moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to area hospitals – Farrell to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County and Storz to Mercy Jefferson in Crystal City, the report said.
The two women were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Elantra was totaled, and the Malibu was extensively damaged, the report said.
