Two children and two men were hurt in a traffic mishap late Sunday morning (Aug. 18) on the parking lot of House Springs Elementary School.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Michael Vaughn, 25, of House Springs was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta northeast in the parking lot of the school, 4380 Gravois Road, when he drove off the road and the car became airborne and ran into a culvert.
Vaughn sustained minor injuries and was taken by Big River Ambulance to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, as were two children riding the car, Tyler Vaughn, 6, and Walter Vaughn, 2, both also of House Springs. The two youngsters sustained moderate injuries and were taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. A third passenger, Joshua Eskew, 29, of Fenton sustained minor injuries and was taken by car to Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
The two adults were not wearing seat belts while the two children were properly restrained, the report said. The VW had moderate damage.
