Three people were hurt Saturday evening (Jan. 11) after the car they were riding in was run off East Rock Creek Road by a driver who left the scene.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Joshua Laughlin, 30, of Byrnes Mill was driving a 2003 Mercedes C240 east on East Rock Creek Road at Gary Road in the area west of Arnold at 10:35 p.m. when his car was struck from behind by a white pickup truck. The Mercedes ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, and the driver of the pickup drove off, the report said.

Laughlin and two passengers in the Mercedes – Jesse Green, 18, and John Pfingston, 55, both of House Springs, all sustained moderate injuries and all were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.

Updates on their conditions were not available.

All those in the Mercedes, which was totaled, were wearing seat belts, the report said.
