Three people were hurt in a three-vehicle traffic accident Friday morning (Nov. 8) on Hwy. 30 in Dittmer.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that John Grounds, 22, of Dittmer was driving a 2008 Mercury Milan west on Hwy. 30 at 7:05 a.m. when he slowed to make a left turn at Melody Hill Lane. A 2002 Ford F150 driven by John Mackiewicz, 75, of Fenton had stopped behind the Mercury. A 2017 Nissan Altima driven by Roberta Jensen, 83, of Cedar Hill failed to stop and hit the rear of the Ford, which in turn hit the rear of the Mercury.
The report made no mention of an injury to Jensen, but Mackiewicz sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Big River Ambulance to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. Grounds and a passenger in the Ford, Charles Burnett, 56, of St. Louis, both suffered minor injuries and both were taken by car to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital, the report said.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
All involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the report said. The Nissan was totaled, the Ford had moderate damage and the Mercury minor damage.
