A St. Louis woman was seriously hurt Friday evening (Dec. 6) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 67 at Papin Road southeast of De Soto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5:24 p.m., Stephanie R. Hopson, 27, of St. Louis was driving a 2002 Ford Taurus east on Papin Road and while trying to cross southbound Hwy. 67, she allegedly failed to yield to a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 headed south on the highway, pulling into the path of the pickup, the report said.
The front of the Silverado struck the left side of the Taurus, according to the report.
Larry F. Barriner, 71, of St. Louis was driving the pickup. No injuries were reported for him.
Hopson, however, was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
She was wearing a seat belt, and Barriner was not wearing one, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
