Four people from St. Louis, including two young children, were hurt in a two-vehicle accident Sunday (Dec. 15) on Hwy. W in House Springs.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Geralyn Hayden, 57, of Linn was driving north on Hwy. W north of Byrnesville Road at 1:35 p.m. when her 2017 Toyota Rav 4 slid on the snow-covered road, crossed the center line and hit head-on a southbound 2011 Ford Escape driven by Thomas Self, 33, of St. Louis.
Self sustained moderate injuries, as did a passenger in the Ford, Anna Self, 38, also of St. Louis. Two other passengers in the Ford – a 4-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl – had minor injuries. All were taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
Both Thomas Self and Anna Self were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Information on the conditions of the two children was not available.
The report made no mention of an injury to Hayden.
All involved were wearing seat belts and the children were in safety seats, the report said. Both vehicles were totaled.
