A Republic man was seriously hurt Sunday afternoon (Oct. 20) when he crashed a motorcycle into a car on Hwy. FF at John McKeever Road in the Jefferson County portion of Pacific, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 2:25 p.m., Paul R. Spuhl, 52, of Republic was riding a 2014 Yamaha Stratoliner south on the highway, and the front of the motorcycle struck the rear of a southbound 2017 Subaru Outback stopped in traffic ahead, the report said.
Christa L. Ponstingl, 45, of Eureka was driving the Outback. No injuries were reported for her.
Spuhl was taken by Meramec Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where he was listed in satisfactory condition this afternoon (Oct. 23), a hospital spokeswoman said.
He was wearing a helmet, and Ponstingl was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The motorcycle was totaled, and the Outback was moderately damaged, the report said.
