A Pacific man was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle traffic accident early Monday evening (Aug. 12) on Hwy. 67 south of De Soto.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Ronald Drennen, 38, of Hillsboro was driving a 1996 Ford 9000 south on Hwy. 67 and at 6:30 p.m. made a right turn at Papin Road in front of a 2006 Pontiac Torrent driven by Justin Viner, 32, of Pacific. In an attempt to avoid a collision, Viner steered to the left and the front right of the Pontiac stuck the left rear of the Ford.
Viner sustained serious injuries and was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
He was listed in satisfactory condition on Tuesday, a hospital spokesman said.
The report made no mention of an injury to Drennen.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the report said. The Pontiac was totaled while the Ford had minor damage.
