A woman and a 9-year-old girl, both from Imperial, were hurt Saturday morning (March 9) in a two-car traffic accident on Old Hwy. 21 north of Hwy. M in the Otto area.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Taylor Walker, 20, of Springfield, Mo., was driving a 2007 Ford Focus south on Old Hwy. 21 at 10:25 a.m., as she was making a left turn, drove into the path of a northbound 2012 Toyota Corolla driven by Holly Eberhart, 38, of Imperial. The impact of the collision forced the Toyota to overturn, and it landed on its top. The Ford went off the side wide of the road into a ditch.

Walker was not reportedly injured, but Eberhart and a passenger in her car, Leona Lumsford, 9, both sustained moderate injuries and were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.

Updates on their conditions were not available.

All three involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the report said. The Toyota was totaled and the Ford had extensive damage.
