A 15-year-old Festus boy was hurt in a single-vehicle accident this morning (Oct. 20) in Franklin County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 16-year-old boy from Villa Ridge was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup east on Hwy. T near Adda Road in the St. Albans area at 6:10 a.m. when his vision was obscured by an oncoming vehicle’s headlights and he drove off the right side of the road, where the right side of the pickup hit a guardrail and overturned.

No injuries were reported for the driver, but the 15-year-old Festus boy who was a passenger in the truck sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Meramec Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington, the report said.

An update on his condition was not available.

Both the driver and the passenger were wearing seat belts, the report said. The pickup had extensive damage.
