A Fenton woman died after being struck by a car while attempting to walk across South Broadway Boulevard in St. Louis County on Monday night (Oct. 26). The driver, a 23-year-old St. Louis man, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated later that night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Latrishia A. Kent, 35, Fenton attempted to cross South Broadway north of Arlee Avenue at about 9:10 p.m. when she was struck by a 1985 Ford Crown Victoria driven by the suspect. After she was struck, the victim struck a parked vehicle on the street, according to the Highway Patrol.

Kent was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lemay Fire Protection District, the report said.

The vehicles involved in the accident sustained minor damage, according to the report.

The Highway Patrol arrested the suspect at 11:07 p.m. It will seek charges against the man for driving while intoxicated resulting in death of another; leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and second-degree manslaughter, a report said.
