A Cedar Hill man was injured in a traffic accident early Friday evening (May 24) when the motorcycle he was riding on Hwy. 30 in Dittmer ran into a pickup.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that William Thomas, 52, of Dittmer was driving a 2012 Ford F-150 west on Hwy. 30 at 6:39 p.m. and was slowing to make a left turn onto Dittmer Ridge Road. Michael Keenan, 29, of Cedar Hill, was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson Ultra on westbound Hwy. 30 several vehicles behind Thomas and when traffic slowed, Keenan moved into the eastbound lane and passed several vehicles before his motorcycle stuck the left front side of the pickup in the middle of its turn, and Keenan was thrown from the motorcycle.
The report made no mention of injury to Thomas, but Keenan suffered moderate injuries and was taken by car to SSM Health St. Clare Health Center in Fenton.
An update on his condition was not available.
The report indicates that it is unknown whether Keenan was wearing a safety helmet; Thomas was wearing a seat belt. The pickup had minor damage but the motorcycle was damaged extensively.
