Two Arnold residents were injured Sunday afternoon (Oct. 6) when the motorcycle they were riding hit an SUV on Hwy. 94 east of Hwy. H in St. Charles County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3 p.m., Jonathan Donnelly, 30, of Arnold was riding a 2018 Harley-Davidson Street Glide east on Hwy. 94, and allegedly was traveling too fast for the wet road conditions when he lost control of the motorcycle, which traveled into the westbound lanes and struck the left side of a westbound 2014 Ford Escape. Then, the bike ran off the road, the report said.
Jonathan M. Bommarito, 23, of Union was driving the SUV. No injuries were reported for him.
Donnelly, however, was moderately injured, and a passenger on the motorcycle – Abigail R. Tawlks, 30, of Arnold – suffered minor injuries. They were transported by St. Charles County Ambulance to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, where they were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said today (Oct. 8).
Donnelly and Tawlks were not wearing helmets, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved helmets, and Bommarito was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The motorcycle was extensively damaged, and the SUV was moderately damaged, the report said.
