6-4-19 pet spot

Wilbur, a 6-year-old basset hound, makes sure he checks on the goats that live on a neighboring property in Festus.

Wilbur, a 6-year-old basset hound, enjoys roaming around his yard in Festus, owner Danny Sullivan said.

This photo of Wilbur was taken April 17, 2018.

“We have a fenced-in yard that he and our other dogs play in,” Sullivan said. “We have five dogs. He gets along with the other dogs. Wilbur likes to be outside, but runs inside and out.”

Wilbur also is interested in the goats that live on a neighboring property.

“He’s real playful,” Sullivan said. “The neighbors behind us have goats. When he goes out, the first thing he does is try to get a glimpse of the goats.”

Sullivan said Wilbur has a mind of his own.

“He is stubborn and loyal pretty much to me,” Sullivan said. “He won’t listen to anyone but me.”

Sullivan said Wilbur has it easy.

“He leads a very spoiled lifestyle,” he said. “All my dogs do.”
