Max, a 5-year-old mixed breed, is not exactly a bolt of lightning, his owner, Robert Caby of Festus said.
“He’s the laziest dog in the world,” Caby said. “He basically moves throughout the day from one spot on the couch to another.”
Caby said he doesn’t worry that Max, believed to be a husky-Lab mix, will ever stray too far from home.
“He ran off one day and the kids were worried,” Caby said. “I said, ‘He’s not going to run too far.’ When we opened the front door to go look for him, he was right there sitting on the porch.”
Max, a rescue pet, has a favorite family member.
“He’s very loyal to the people he knows,” he said. “He’s very protective. But, he’s my wife’s dog. When she’s around, he won’t listen to anyone else.”
