Amanda Guenther of the Hillsboro area says her dogs, Benelli and Remington, enjoy watching all the action outside their home from a special spot at the window shown in this photo, which was taken sometime late last fall.
“That window faces Hwy. Z,” Guenther said. “They love to look out there and watch squirrels go by, all kinds of things.”
Benelli, 2, at left, is an Aussiedor (Australian shepherd and Lab mix) and Remington, 4, is a black Labrador, Guenther said.
“We named them both after shotguns,” she said. “The older one is more laid-back, very sweet. Benelli is very, very active, very hyper, very sassy.”
The dogs provide companionship for each other and for Guenther.
“They’re good friends,” she said. “We had Remington first. It took her a while to warm up to Benelli. I would be bored without them.”
