Weber Chevrolet in Columbia, Ill., recently donated two CPR in School Training Kits – one each for Fox High School and Seckman High School.

The Missouri Legislature recently passed a bill that will require high school students, starting in the 2017-2018 school year, to receive CPR and first aid training before they graduate, and the kits will help the Fox district schools provide that training, said Jen Rogers of the American Heart Association, who helped arrange the donation.

Rogers said George Weber has donated six units to area high schools and chose to give two to the Fox district because many residents from the area shop at his dealership.

Each of the kits is valued at about $650 and includes a mini CPR dummy and DVDs to teach not only about administering CPR but also about using an automated external defibrillator, Rogers said.

The donation was presented at the Sept. 20 Fox Board of Education meeting, and the board agreed that night to accept the gift.
