The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a thirsty thief who recently stole two cans of beer from a home in the 10000 block of Waterford Drive in the Hillsboro area. Between 8 p.m. May 15 and 6 p.m. May 20, someone forced open a window to the home and stole two 12-ounce cans of Busch beer, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
Damage to the window was estimated at $500. The beer was valued at $2.50, the report said.
The victim told deputies he had just purchased the home about four weeks before the burglary. He said he returned to the home after being away a few days and found the damage to the window. After looking around, the only thing he found missing was the beer, according to the report.
Deputies found a handprint on the damaged window, as well as one on a sliding glass door. Those prints were submitted as evidence, the report said.
As of June 2, there were no suspects or arrests, said Lt. Gary Higginbotham. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
