Jim Beam bourbon

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking charges against a 32-year-old De Soto man for allegedly stealing a bottle of bourbon and several bottles of beer and other alcoholic beverages from a camper parked in the 4800 block of Hwy. V in the De Soto area.

The burglary was reported at 11:15 p.m. April 14, after the man allegedly pried open the door of the camping trailer and stole a liter bottle of Jim Beam Honey bourbon, seven 8-ounce bottles of Bud Light Apple-Ahhh-Rita and three 12-ounce bottles of Bud Light beer, altogether valued at $53, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The suspect was taken into custody on an unrelated incident involving an assault and was found with some of the stolen alcoholic beverages, which were taken as evidence, the report said.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking burglary charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
