Daniel Fuller, 48, of Pevely has been sentenced to seven years in prison following 14 felony charges for sexually molesting a minor, court records show.
The crimes occurred between November 2011 and July 9, 2012, and the female victim was a teenager at the time, the probable-cause statement said.
Fuller was arrested July 10, after detectives and other law enforcement officers searched his home in the 9000 block of Ponderosa and seized several computers, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Officers searched his home after getting a tip about child pornography from the Nebraska State Patrol, which had been notified by Cabela’s, a sporting goods retailer headquartered in that state, about images found on a recording device that Fuller allegedly had bought and then returned, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
The device was a pair of sunglasses with a recording system embedded in it, according to the probable-cause statement.
Images found on the device showed Fuller with a teenage girl, and they were both naked, the report said.
When officers searched Fuller’s home, they determined the location shown on the recording was from inside one of his bathrooms, the report said.
Fuller reportedly admitted to officers that he had sexual relations with the minor on various occasions between November 2011 and July 9, 2012, according to the statement.
Fuller previously was charged with 16 felonies, but one for sexual exploitation of a minor and another for promoting child pornography were dismissed, court papers indicate.
Fuller pleaded guilty to eight counts of statutory sodomy, two counts of statutory rape and four other felonies stemming from the case, the report said.
He was sentenced May 6 by Jefferson County Div. 1 Circuit Judge Robert G. Wilkins to 10 seven-year prison terms for the statutory sodomy and statutory rape charges and to four four-year terms for the other felonies.
However, all the terms are to be served concurrently, or at the same time, the report said.
