Eureka Fire Protection District responded to a Tuesday (Jan. 22) call about a vehicle fire in the drive-thru of Rockwood Bank and was able to extinguish the fire within a minute of arriving.
The district received the call at 11:06 a.m. and arrived on the scene at 11:09 a.m., public information officer Scott Barthelmass said.
An electrical issue appeared to have started the fire, which was put out with a few fire extinguishers, Barthelmass said.
The vehicle's owner used an extinguisher from the bank until firefighters arrived, and then they took over. Barthelmass said Eureka was on scene for about 15 minutes.
The 2005 GMC pickup was a total loss, Barthelmass said.
