Eureka Police patch

A 23-year-old Bland woman was arrested for alleged possession of heroin after Eureka Police found her at 9:57 p.m. Oct. 6 passed out in a car on Walmart’s parking lot, police report. The woman was found slumped over in the driver’s seat of a 2014 Kia that was partially sticking out of a parking spot, a report said.

The officer knocked on the driver’s side window, but the woman didn’t wake up. He entered the vehicle through an unlocked passenger door and woke up the driver. She said she didn’t know where she had come from or what she was doing in Eureka, according to the report.

While in the car, the officer found a plastic bag containing 24 capsules of grainy white powder in the vehicle’s armrest. The officer also found used hypodermic syringes and a spoon with residue. The suspect told police she had ingested heroin and Xanax, the report said.

An ambulance was called for the woman but she refused to be taken to a hospital. After being treated by paramedics at the scene, she was arrested for alleged possession of controlled substance, taken to the police station and booked before being released. The police will apply for charges through the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office for felony possession of a controlled substance, Eureka Police Lt. David Wilson said.
