Two Jefferson County men were arrested early this morning (July 16) for allegedly operating a methamphetamine lab at a home in the 700 block of Lincoln Drive in Imperial, says Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
A 26-year-old Barnhart man and a 33-year-old Imperial man were arrested on drug charges, Arnhart said.
At about 2:20 a.m., deputies were in the area and detected a chemical smell, Arnhart said.
“They determined it to be coming from the 700 block of Lincoln Drive (which is off Montebello Road), and there was an active meth lab,” Arnhart said.
He said the Municipal Enforcement Group Drug Task Force was called to help with the investigation.
Also, the Rock Community Fire Protection District was called to help ventilate the home, Arnhart said.
The 26-year-old already was wanted on warrants from Jefferson County and Arnold on a variety of charges, ranging from traffic violations to drug offenses, Arnhart said.
